Use the world as your classroom.

The Global Studies emphasis allows you to understand societies beyond our borders, find solutions to global problems and become inspired to make a difference in the world. The diverse program curriculum will develop your engagement with—and knowledge of—foreign policy, human rights, social movements, political economy, world politics and international organizations.

To put your knowledge to practice, you can take advantage of the unique opportunity to compete as a National Model United Nations delegate, or intern with local, state or national political organizations, elected officials, and nonprofit organizations. Whether you want to become a journalist, public policy analyst, Department of State employee, or a human rights attorney, you’ll be well-prepared to embark on a career path with a purpose.

Global Studies Requirements

Emphasis

A major emphasis dives deeper into a specific interest within your major. It allows you to focus on a particular area of study, replacing the need for a separate minor. By tailoring your coursework, a major emphasis equips you with specialized knowledge and skills to better prepare you for career opportunities or advanced studies in your chosen field.
