Child Development

Prepare for careers in early childhood, child welfare, and youth development.

The Child Development Minor features curated interdisciplinary coursework designed for students who want to enter career fields in education, early childhood, juvenile services, child welfare, recreation and outdoor education, social work, mental health, or coaching. Students will gain comprehensive insight into the issues and impacts of child development, knowledge of developmental trauma, and skills in intervention. Required coursework includes both online and in-person learning opportunities, in which students will explore child development theories and hone practical skills applicable to a variety of career fields.
