Housing

Housing can be reserved in 3-night packages only – starting the day before the course (check in 4:00-6:00pm), and ending the final day of the course (check out 10:00am). Participants can reserve as many sessions of housing as needed, but the packages can not be split up. The session packages are as follows:

On-campus housing package cost: $200/session ($66.67/night)

If you prefer off-campus accommodations, there are several hotels available in Gunnison. We may also have prorated room options, and we will share more details about that soon.

If you’re interested in off-grid camping, consider Hartman Rocks Recreational Area. Many attendees have enjoyed camping there together. Plus, you can purchase a day pass to the Mountaineer Field House for gym access and shower facilities!

Every Wednesday, we invite all teachers to a lunch provided by the University from 12-1 PM in the University Ballroom.

We love organizing informal gatherings during the Teacher Institute, so check the snack tables for sign-up details and join us for some relaxed networking!

From Gunnison to Crested Butte—just 30 minutes away—you’ll find an abundance of hiking, biking, fishing, and more. With the sun shining and wildflowers blooming, contact anyone in the Teacher Institute for recommendations on outdoor activities and must-see locations.

Enroll your child in the Junior Mountaineer Camp, designed specifically for ages 5-12. This camp combines athletics, physical activities, and STEAM learning right on campus.
