Starting in Fall 2026, Western will launch its first nursing cohort. Students will build their skills in one of Colorado’s most realistic medical training environments, including an open laboratory environment featuring multiple hospital bed stations, skills training stations, and a high-fidelity simulation suite. Graduates will be prepared for diverse medical settings and are especially competitive for roles in rural, community, and public health.

Verzuh Ranch, a stunning 40-acre property in Crested Butte, Colorado, will be protected forever through the work of Western students. Thanks to a generous donation that placed the land under Western’s ownership, the property will never be developed. Instead, it now serves as a living laboratory for land management, wildlife conservation, ecological restoration, and real-world sustainability challenges.

Western’s new School of the Arts offers programs in art, design, film, music, and theatre, allowing students to build a strong artistic foundation, collaborate across disciplines, refine their skills, and graduate prepared to thrive in any creative industry.
