Student Support for Pregnancy

Western is dedicated to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all students, employees, and visitors, and to ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements related to sexual misconduct.

The Title IX Office provides resources, supportive measures, and resolution options for anyone who reports experiencing sexual misconduct, including domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and sexual assault. If a report proceeds to an informal or formal resolution process, the Title IX Coordinator also offers resources and supportive measures to the Respondent (the person accused of sexual misconduct).

Title IX Office staff ensure fair and impartial oversight of all sexual misconduct complaints and work to identify and address any related patterns or systemic concerns that may impact the campus environment or a student’s access to education.

Concerns or reports regarding sexual misconduct may be submitted via Western’s secure online form or by emailing titleixadministrator@western.edu.

Western is committed to ensuring that pregnant students and students with pregnancy-related conditions receive equitable access to educational opportunities.

The Title IX Office coordinates reasonable modifications for students when pregnancy or a pregnancy-related condition affects their ability to participate in educational programs or activities.

Student requests for reasonable modifications related to pregnancy or pregnancy‑related conditions, as well as requests for lactation supports, may be sent to titleixadministrator@western.edu.

Victims of Sexual Assault are encouraged to report to the Gunnison Valley Hospital (GVH) Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) to have evidence collected and stored for future legal system actions. Funds are available through the Office of Student Affairs to assist students with transportation options/costs.
