Biography
Theresa M. Szczurek, a serial technology entrepreneur, is a global C-level executive and strategist who has led organizations and served on Board of Directors. As a former Bell Labs engineer, she then co-founded and led three technology ventures. Most recently she served on Governor Polis’ cabinet as the State of Colorado Chief Information Officer and Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Information Technology. Offering success strategies used in taking her technology company from $0 to over $40 million in six years, in leading important non-profit associations, in being financially responsible for over $400M annual P&L, and in climbing the ladder in a Fortune 10 company, Szczurek consults as a Certified Management Consultant (CMC®)through her firm Technology and Management Solutions. She helps clients produce extraordinary results, spur innovation, oversee IT and cybersecurity, drive market growth, develop talent, and build customer delight. An awarded business leader and speaker, she wrote the Amazon-bestseller, Pursuit of Passionate Purpose (Wiley), which provides her proven, step-by-step formula for success. A life-time Girl Scout and leader, Szczurek also works to attract more girls and women to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) careers. Believing that education is a game changer, Szczurek has an MBA and Ph.D. from University of Colorado Boulder, MS in Operations Research from Stanford University, and BS in Mathematics from Western Illinois University.
