How did you discover Western?

I chose to attend Western as a student in 2016 because I have always felt the pull to live in a small mountain town and because I wanted to try EVERYTHING. The Gunnison Valley and Western Colorado University was the place that allowed me to do exactly that. After graduating in 2019, I left Gunnison to explore other options but came running back when the opportunity presented itself. I was a diversely involved student on campus and in the community and am excited to transfer that dedication to my current role at Western.

What most excites you about your field?

Having the opportunity to connect people to the communities and causes they value.

What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?

The community, hands down, is my favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley. From the folks that have been here for generations to those who found this town, took a chance and moved here, and now call Gunnison “home.” The people in this valley are extraordinary and therefore have cultivated a community that is noteworthy.
