Biography

I am a bilingual educator and cross-genre writer. My teaching has been awarded the Marian Bashinski Award for Excellence in Teaching First-Year Composition and the Fred L. Standley Award for Most Effective Teacher Among Graduate Assistants at Florida State University.

I am a finalist for The Georgia Review’s 2025 Loraine Williams Poetry Prize, the winner of the SAMLA Graduate Student Creative Writing Award, and a runner-up for Grist Journal’s ProForma Contest. My creative work has been featured in The Georgia Review, Indiana Review, Pleiades, The Common, Denver Quarterly, The Madison Review, etc.

I love teaching undergraduate courses in creative writing, global and multiethnic literature, and first-year composition, and I previously served as nonfiction editor at The Southeast Review.
