Biography
How did you discover Western?
I originally found Western because I was interested in getting a PhD, and when I found out the HAEP program offered one in such a beautiful place I was sold, and while I realized academia wasn’t really my thing, being in such a beautiful place was worth it to pursue the second masters.
What are some of the highlights of your career?
Starting in a graduate assistant position in the weight room at Western, getting promoted to assistant strength coach, and now sitting in the head strength coach position I would say has been a huge highlight so far.
What excites you most about your field?
Getting to work with the athletes is why I do this job. Creating a weight room environment that is comfortable and welcoming for all athletes is something I’ve strived for in my career, and seeing how this positive environment can have an impact on their performance has been huge.
What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?
I am training for a 120 mile race in August and having access to so many trails right outside my front door is amazing.
