Katie L. Wheaton

Biography

Katie joined the Western community in 2011 as the Academic Success Advisor. She has most recently served as an academic advisor and international specialist. She holds a BA in International Studies with an emphasis in Latin America and Spanish Language from the University of Missouri. As an undergraduate, she had the pleasure of studying abroad in Monteverde, Costa Rica, and Sevilla, Spain. After her undergraduate education, she moved to Summit County and worked at Colorado Mountain College (CMC) as an administrative assistant and an ESL instructor. Upon leaving CMC, Katie traveled to Central America for four months and taught ESL in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. When she returned to the states, she relocated to Fort Collins to pursue and complete an MA in Adult Education, Workforce Training, and Human Resources Studies from Colorado State University.
