Biography

JS Mayank (he/him/his) is a British-Indian writer/director. He’s been a Sony Diverse Writers program fellow, Tribeca fellow, and is mentored by Damon Lindelof.  

On the feature side, JS is adapting Viktor Frankl’s seminal Man’s Search For Meaning alongside Oscar nominee Lesley Paterson (All Quiet on the Western Front) for FOX, has an original erotic thriller  Work Wife with Guymon Casady (The Fall Guy) and Alex Holcomb at Entertainment 360, and action-comedy The Conundrum, with producer/casting director, Sarah Hailey Finn (Everything Everywhere All at Once). He most recently got hired to adapt the manuscript for The Friendship Bench by producer Kate Cohen (Transcendence). 

In television, he is currently developing the series Control with Freddie Highmore/Alfresco for Sony Pictures TV Studios, and EIS for Gale Anne Hurd/Valhalla (The Walking Dead, Terminator). Last year, he sold his original pilot Peculiar with Eric Christian Olsen’s Cloud 9 (Matlock) to CBS. Before this, he was the Executive Producer/showrunner for season 2 of Netflix’s The Fame Game. He was also on a blind deal at Sony and sold a pilot THE PARDONER with Vince Gerardis (Game of Thrones) to UCP/Syfy.
