Members of the Multicultural Center (MCC) planned, set up and performed the entire event. The MCC is home to many different clubs at Western: Amigos, Asian Pacific Islanders Club, Black Student Alliance, Native American Student Council and Polynesian Chant and Dance Club.
All those groups came together to put together the 20th MCC Haunted House.
“I feel like everyone got to be creative,” said Mariby Perez, a member of the MCC. “Depending on the room you were assigned, you got to make up your own character.”
Perez also described the preparation of the Haunted House: “Everyone was bonding and helping each other get ready or they were giving advice on the roles they were playing.”
The Haunted House is not just for students to come get a good spook. Members of the community and their families all filed into Taylor the nights of Oct. 30 and 31 to take a walk through the Haunted House. The scares did come at a cost, $5 for students and $7 for community members.
“I had a complete blast being a part of the Haunted House,” said Alicia Cordova, another member of the MCC. “Halloween is my favorite holiday, so getting dressed up and putting on a show to scare people was very thrilling.”
If you are interested in helping with next year’s Haunted House, the MCC is always looking for new members or just volunteers willing to help.
