Colorado’s Outdoor Recreation Industry Office has awarded Western Colorado University’s Outdoor Industry MBA—which is accepting applications until Aug. 1—competitive scholarships for students adding diversity to the program, primarily those who are underrepresented in the Outdoor Industry.

This MBA is committed to ensuring future leaders of the industry engage in a program that is both inclusive and diverse, so they deeply understand the benefits of including all voices in an industry that benefits all participants. Scholarships are $5,000 each.

This two-year MBA program provides professionals the content and connections needed to excel in either the products or services sides of the outdoor industry. Students take a traditional business core of courses, along with specialized tracks that focus on the unique social, environmental and structural elements of the outdoor industry.

The program culminates in a capstone project to create meaningful impacts with a partnering outdoor industry organization, while providing students the opportunity to build business acumen. MBA students work with a small cohort (25 students) and faculty from ten different academic backgrounds. It is for people who desire the requisite skills to advance their careers, while maintaining the outdoor industry ethos.

Cohort space and scholarships are limited, those interested are encourage to apply today.
