Western Colorado University To Host National Geographic’s Living with Wolves a photographic exhibit.

Gunnison, Colorado, July 28, 2020 – National Geographic’s Living with Wolves photographic exhibit will be on display in the gallery at Quigley Hall on Western Colorado University’s campus for one week from Wednesday, August 5th to August 12th. The Master in Gallery and Museum Management program is hosting the exhibit and will supervise viewings with nine people at a time in the gallery due to COVID-19. All viewers will be required to wear masks when in the gallery due to the mandatory statewide order issued on July 17th, 2020.

The School of Environment and Sustainability and Western’s Center for Public Lands will host four events throughout the week on the topic of wolf restoration, entirely online, via Zoom. Topics include a presentation on Colorado State Ballot Initiative 107, range management practices aimed to reduce predation risk, and a panel on lessons learned from wolf restoration in other western U.S. states.

The keynote event will take place on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m with award-winning author Barry Lopez. Lopez is a decorated National Book Award-winning nature author. He will speak to his book Of Wolves and Men, dealing with the interaction between humans and wolves over the centuries.
