Biography

What year in school are you and when do you plan to graduate?

I am a fourth-year accelerated master’s student and plan to graduate in May 2026.

How did you discover Western?

I initially applied to Western back in 2019, but when COVID-19 hit in 2020, college became unaffordable for me, so I decided to attend community college instead. I rediscovered Western through my community college program when representatives from Western visited one of my classes.

What are some of the highlights of your time at Western?

One of the highlights of my time at Western has been participating in a land-based programming class right after I transferred. In this class, I got to rock climb and backpack before the first week of school started, all while earning college credit.

What most excites you about your major?

I am most excited about connecting people to the outdoors who might not have had the opportunity to experience it in that way before.

What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?

I love the walkability of Gunnison—you can walk to the main street in just five minutes! I also appreciate the strong sense of community in the valley. Keeping connections open here can be incredibly beneficial in the future.
