Mountaineer Football Alumni Association

Each year, an independent group of former players and friends of the Western Colorado University football program band together to become a driving force that ensures the continuation of the proud history of Mountaineer football. The Mountaineer Football Alumni Association (MFAA), comprised of about 70 members, gives their time and financial support towards football scholarships. To contribute to a successful football program and continue building momentum to retain and attract student-athletes to WCU, MFAA raised $75,000 in 2023/24.

Currently, WCU Football is ranked nationally in the top 10 out of 162 DII programs. “Coach Bains and his staff have this program performing in the top 6% of all peers.” Explained an MFAA member. “The WCU Football staff is amazing at recruiting, developing young men, and showcasing a team that plays with heart and class.”

The MFAA rallies alumni and football fans and intends to continue doing so with goals of recruiting 300 MFAA members and raising $300,000 a year for football scholarships to provide additional momentum to the program’s success.

All support through the MFAA sends a powerful message to WCU student-athletes that there is someone who believes in them and their potential.
