Sam Degenhard
Meet Sam Degenhard, a Western Colorado University School of Business alum. After graduating, Sam landed his dream job in sports marketing with Red Bull. Following a decade with the iconic brand, he was ready for a new challenge and returned to Western to earn his Outdoor Industry MBA. From there, Sam launched Campfire Ranch, a business dedicated to creating seamless outdoor hospitality and experiences.

Tess Peterson
Meet Tess Peterson, a ’22 Western Colorado University alum with a major in Environment & Sustainability and minor in Pre-Law. After graduating, Tess continued her education at law school, where her Western foundation prepared her to thrive. She passed the bar and returned to Gunnison, where she now serves as an associate attorney at Law of the Rockies.

Merit Scholarships
Merit scholarships are awards based on academic achievements, such as high school or college GPA. These scholarships are automatically considered upon admission and do not require repayment.
Institutional Scholarships
Institutional Scholarships are awards funded directly by the University to support student success. These scholarships recognize a wide range of achievements, including academic excellence, leadership, community involvement, financial need, and participation in specific programs, clubs, or majors.
Tuition Discounts
A tuition discount lowers the amount you pay for college, reducing your overall cost. At Western Colorado University, tuition discounts are mostly based on residency.
