Dr. Abel Chavez profiled on Colorado Public Radio

Abel Chavez, Ph.D., was the subject of a recent story on Colorado Public Radio (CPR). Dr. Chavez serves as Western Colorado University’s Dean of Graduate Studies and Vice President of Student Success. He grew up in the Denver area and has traveled the world studying sustainability in many different communities. He began working at Western in 2014. Recently Dr. Chavez won the Ohtli Award and also traveled to the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture headquarters in Rome to advocate for sustainability in mountain communities. His most recent project is a student success campaign at Western.
