Admitted Undergraduate Students

Start by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for grants, loans, and work-study opportunities. Be sure to include Western’s school code: 001372.

You can also apply for scholarships through the Western Scholarship Application. To access it, you’ll need to log in with your Western email and log into your Western Navigator for details.

After you’ve applied, you can stay updated and can check the status of your financial aid and scholarships, view any award offers, and accept or decline student loans in your Western Navigator.

Before you register for classes, you’ll receive a Pre-Registration Survey to share your academic interests, goals, and any specific courses you’re hoping to take. Once you submit it, our Registration and Advising Services team will review your responses and help build a schedule that works for you. This is a great way to start your first semester at Western off right.

Western has a two-year live-on requirement for new students because we know that being surrounded by peers, resources, and opportunities helps you thrive.

When it’s time to choose your housing, you’ll also be able to select your roommate. If you already have someone in mind, that’s great! If not, you’ll be able to view roommate profiles and connect with others who could be a great match.

Living on campus is one of the best ways to get connected and feel at home from day one.

Orientation is your official welcome to Western- and a great way to start building your community.

You’ll get to know campus, meet fellow Mountaineers, and connect with faculty and staff who are here to support you. Orientation includes important info sessions, fun events, and helpful tools to make sure you’re confident and prepared for your first semester.
