More than ever, Colorado teachers are in demand. Per the Colorado Department of Education, there were over 400 unfilled teaching positions across the state in 2020-21. We can help close that gap by providing you with the proper teaching credentials, including state licensure.

General Studies + Teacher Licensure Requirements

A major is your primary field of study, focusing on a specific subject like biology or business. This differs from a degree, which is the overall qualification you earn (for example, a bachelor’s degree). Your major determines the specialized courses you will take in college. To complete your degree, a major must be paired with a minor.

Program Requirements Degree Plan

A licensure complements a degree and is awarded by entities other than Western. Often awarded by the state for teaching, it is a public and professional assurance that state teaching standards are met and the student is prepared to teach.
