WCU Program: Full Stack Development

Full Stack Development Certificate

Gain the skills to build dynamic full-stack web applications.

In the 12-credit full stack development certificate, you’ll develop the skills needed to create aesthetic, engaging, and functional websites from scratch. This hands-on program integrates general programming skills, design principles and database management to help you understand interactions between client and server-side software and enhance your employability as a computer scientist, software engineer, or web developer, and more. Through a blend of practical experience and foundational concepts, you’ll learn not only why certain web development and design principles are important, but also how to build your websites based on these fundamental concepts.

This certificate can be earned as part of Western’s Computer Science degree program, or independently of it for non-degree seeking students. Upon completing the certificate, you’ll have an enhanced portfolio showcasing your full-stack projects, the ability to demonstrate your skills to potential employers, and a clear path forward in your web development career.

Full Stack Development Certificate Requirements

Certificate

A certificate is a shorter program focusing on a specific field of expertise rather than an entire course of study. It does not result in a degree, but it can be completed alongside your major or as a stand-alone credential. Certificates are a great way to enhance your knowledge, strengthen your resume, and gain practical experience in a particular field.
