How did you discover Western?
Discovering Western was actually a memorable part of a road trip with my father across Colorado. While our main goal was to explore potential schools, we also took the opportunity to soak in the sights and experiences of the state.
What are some of the highlights of your career?
Returning to my alma mater, surrounded by student energy, was a career highlight for me. From attending student games to joining campus activities, the vibrant atmosphere and school pride made work feel like play. Engaging with students fueled my passion for learning and community, leaving a lasting impact on both my career and personal growth.
What excites you most about your field?
What excites me most about my field is the opportunity to interact with students, potential students, families, alumni, and friends on a daily basis. Building connections and fostering a sense of community within the university environment brings me immense joy and fulfillment. Additionally, I find great satisfaction in designing and introducing new merchandise. The process of creating innovative products that resonate with people and enhance their connection to the university is incredibly rewarding.
What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?
It’s hard to pick just one! Firstly, the people here are incredibly welcoming and genuine, fostering a sense of community that’s hard to find elsewhere. But perhaps what I cherish most are the outdoor adventures that beckon from every corner – whether it’s skiing through fresh powder, hiking along scenic trails, or casting a line into crystal-clear waters. In this valley, every day is an opportunity to explore, discover, and connect with the beauty of the world around us.
