Biography

Growing up in the central valley of California, with easy access to the Sierra Nevada, I always knew that I wanted to live somewhere with beautiful mountain scenery. In my early adult years, I spent much of my free time in Yosemite, King’s Canyon, and Sequoia National Park, embarking on adventures like hiking the John Muir Trail and summiting Mt. Whitney. After completing my undergraduate degree at Fresno State, I found Western while researching high altitude exercise physiology graduate programs. With its spectacular opportunities for outdoor recreation and a unique master’s program, Gunnison posed to be the perfect place to merge my passions.
