Teaching and Learning Center
Supporting faculty with resources to enhance teaching and student learning.
Fostering a collaborative and innovative academic community.
Everyone at Western Colorado University, whatever their position or experience, is an integral component of an academic community that cultivates openness, curiosity, and possibility in every aspect of teaching and learning. The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) actively engages all faculty, staff, and administrators in collaborative initiatives designed to reimagine WCU’s educational landscape—rooted in diverse expertise and committed to continuous growth.
What We Do
Who We Serve

Faculty
The TLC is a locus of support and community for Western faculty. Our objectives directly align with the faculty-focused action steps of Goals 1 and 3 of the strategic plan.

Staff
The TLC recognizes the critical role staff plays in the successful education of Western students. We invite and welcome staff to collaborate in all TLC events and activities.

Students
The TLC serves students indirectly by supporting those responsible for their education. By enhancing teaching practices and academic programs, we aim to create richer, more effective learning experiences for all students.
Western Fund for Scholarly Opportunities, Undergraduate Research, and Creative Expression
The Western Fund for Scholarly Opportunities, Undergraduate Research, and Creative Expression (SOURCE) program is designed to support and promote undergraduate research and creative endeavors. This initiative aims to enhance the academic experience by encouraging hands-on learning, critical thinking, and innovation.
The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) facilitates the SOURCE program by offering guidance and support to students and faculty mentors involved in research activities. The TLC assists in project development, provides workshops on research methodologies, and helps in the dissemination of research findings. By fostering a collaborative environment, the TLC ensures that participants in the SOURCE program have the necessary tools and mentorship to succeed in their scholarly pursuits.
