Mountaineer Marketplace

Making nutritious food accessible for every Mountaineer.

Western’s on-campus food pantry, the Mountaineer Marketplace, is located in the Pinnacles Multipurpose Room (enter through the south door near the fire pit). The Marketplace is open multiple hours weekly and partners closely with the Gunnison Country Food Pantry and Natural Grocers to provide fresh produce, canned goods, and snacks for students, faculty, and staff.

Check your Western email or stop by the Marketplace for its most current hours.

Who Qualifies

The Mountaineer Marketplace does not have defined standards of “qualifying” for free groceries. Simply, if you feel that you need support to gain proper nourishment, stop by the Marketplace. Here, you’ll sign up by completing a form, and then “shop” at your leisure.

Swipe Out Hunger

Western also participates in Swipe Out Hunger, an opportunity for current students to request five meals from the Rare Air Café or donate extra meal swipes. For more eligibility information, please see the “Forms” tab at housing.western.edu.
