Western Colorado University’s Adult Degree Completion program is tailored for adults who have some college experience and aspire to complete their bachelor’s degree. Delivered entirely online, the program offers flexibility to accommodate your work and life commitments.
We review applications on a rolling basis, so you’ll receive a decision within a few days. To be eligible for the ADC program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Age Requirement
Must be at least 23 years old at the time of application.
Academic Standing
Hold a cumulative GPA of 2.3 or higher from previous college coursework.
Prior College Credit
Have completed a minimum of 24 credits from an accredited college or university.
Pervious Enrollment
If you’ve previously attended Western, at least 12 months must have passed since your last full-time enrollment.
To succeed in Western’s fully online Adult Degree Completion program, you’ll need a few basic tools and tech skills. A reliable computer or mobile device and an up-to-date web browser are essential for accessing course materials, participating in discussions, and submitting assignments.

Having the right tools in place helps ensure a smooth, productive online learning experience from day one.
Western makes it easy to build on the work you’ve already done. You can transfer up to 90 total credits from a variety of sources, including:
College coursework from regionally accredited institutions, with grades of C- or higher
Military credit evaluated through recognized standards
Standardized exams like AP, IB, and CLEP (up to 40 credits total from exam-based sources)
Courses recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE)
This flexibility helps you build on what you’ve already learned, whether it happened in a classroom or through professional or military experience.
While we’re flexible in what we accept, there are a few key policies to keep in mind:
GPA: Only grades earned through Western count toward your GPA.
Upper-division credit: A course will only transfer as upper-division credit if it was classified that way by the original institution, even if it aligns with an upper-division course at Western.
Credit by exam: There’s a limit of 40 credits for AP, IB, CLEP, and similar programs.
