How it Works

In the Western-CU Boulder Engineering Partnership Program, students complete their first two years as Western Colorado University students and then spend the balance of their education as University of Colorado Boulder students—all while remaining on the Western campus in Gunnison. After completing the second year at Western, students transition to CU Boulder student status after an admission process.
Once transitioning to CU Boulder, students in the partnership program are taught by CU Boulder faculty who work full-time in Gunnison. These students are accepted into the Partnership Program at CU Boulder, then pay CU Boulder tuition and mandatory fees. Any financial aid processing and awarding then pivot from Western to CU Boulder.
