Undergrad Pathway: Environment & Sustainability

This accelerated program is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for students to earn both a bachelor’s and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in a faster timeline. Blending environmental studies with creative writing, this program equips students with the skills to craft compelling narratives about the natural world.

With mentorship from professional writers and environmental scholars, students explore nonfiction, fiction, and poetry while developing a deep understanding of ecological issues. The program’s hands-on approach—rooted in literary excellence and environmental advocacy—prepares graduates for publishing, journalism, and conservation communication careers. This is an ideal path for writers passionate about using their words to inspire change.

Environment and Sustainability; Creative Writing

Accelerated Degree programs let students earn both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in less time. After an accelerated undergraduate study, students begin graduate courses, saving time and money. This fast-track option builds skills and experience, helping students start their careers sooner.

Program Requirements Degree Plan

Once students in the accelerated program complete their undergraduate requirements, including the prescribed coursework, General Education, and electives, they become eligible for their Bachelor’s degree conferral. At this point, typically in the fall of junior year, students must apply to continue to the graduate portion of the accelerated program.
