Biography

Keith Miller holds the extraordinary distinction of being the only person ever inducted into both the Colorado Music Hall of Fame and the University of Colorado Athletic Hall of Honor. A former professional football player turned acclaimed bass-baritone, Miller joined the Metropolitan Opera in 2006 and has since performed in more than 350 productions with the company. His career includes a Grammy-nominated role in Eugene Onegin, 13 appearances in the Met’s Live in HD series, recording 10 DVD’s in the process, and a commercial recording of Nico Muhly’s Two Boys.
Internationally recognized for his artistry, Miller has appeared with the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Utah Symphony, and Opera companies across the U.S. and abroad. He has performed at Carnegie Hall and in festivals worldwide, while also making his mark in film with roles in NOAH (starring Russell Crowe) and Aardvark (with Zachary Quinto). His work extends to television, commercials, and as the “Voice of God” announcer for the United Nations.

As a leader in arts education and festival development, Miller has served as Artistic Director for the Bahamas International Opera Festival, General and Artistic Director of the Traverse City Wine and Opera Festival, and previously directed the Crested Butte Music Festival’s Opera Young Artist Program, bringing international recognition through collaborations with renowned artists such as Samuel Ramey and Joyce DiDonato. Mr. Miller currently serves as General and Artistic Director of GOVA, the Gunnison Orchestral and Vocal Academy.
Before pursuing music, Miller spent five years as a professional football player and carried the Olympic Torch in the 1996 Atlanta Games. A native of Ovid, Colorado, he continues to bridge athletics, leadership, and the arts, serving on the Board of Directors for the University of Colorado’s Center for Leadership.
