Biography
How did you discover Western?
My parents are both Western graduates and, at a very young age, I knew I would follow their footsteps and pursue my degree at Western.
What are some of the highlights of your career?
I have lived and worked in the Gunnison Valley ever since I moved here in 2001 to attend school at Western. In that time, I have worn many different hats. After completing my second bachelor’s degree (Spanish) in 2019, I decided to enter the nonprofit sector and have served our community in that capacity ever since. It’s hard to pinpoint an exact highlight, rather, in a broader sense, I am proud of everything I have done to serve our community, especially our youth.
What excites you most about your field?
Working with youth is both challenging and rewarding. I am most excited to see the kids I’ve worked with grow into adulthood and (hopefully) become valuable community members and good humans.
What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?
Just one thing? This would be a long list!
