What year in school are you and when do you plan to graduate?
I’m a senior by credits but I love school and learning so much that I’m planning on graduating in Fall of 2027, so I will have a chance to take all the required classes to get my degrees and whatever else seems interesting along the way.
How did you discover Western?
My sister graduated from Western in 2024, and I visited her here a few times while she was a student. I fell in love with the school because of the remote area, beautiful scenery, and uniquely lovely community.
What are some of the highlights of your time at Western?
There are some pretty amazing events run by different departments at the university. I attended a Wilderness Based Orientation and that was the most incredible start to my Mountaineer experience. I also love the field work I do in geology courses, including weekend field trips to Utah.
What excites you about your major?
With music, I love that I get to express my creativity, perform with other amazing musicians, and be surrounded by music. Geology excites me because it’s such a broad and fascinating subject which explains many of the fascinating natural features we’re surrounded by daily.
What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?
The geology of this area is incredible, but so is the community! It’s hard to choose between those two, because they both make this place so unique.
