Welcome to Mountaineer Cinema, Western’s student-run movie theater, screening high-quality films and offering live Q&As with directors and producers for the entire Gunnison Valley. Mountaineer Cinema is a dynamic collaboration between the School of Arts and the School of Business. More than a community movie theater, the Mountaineer Cinema serves as a hands-on laboratory where students put business strategy and creativity into real-world practice.

An interdisciplinary group of students will help curate film events, participating in all facets of production, marketing, finance, operations, sponsorship development, and audience engagement. Together, they will gain real-world experience in event and project management, entrepreneurship, storytelling, and community partnership. Mountaineer Cinema will help students develop the skills crucial to shaping and transforming the creative and experience economies.
