Rady Family Sports Complex

Mountaineer Bowl

The Mountaineer Bowl is the highest collegiate stadium in the world and home to Western’s NCAA football and track and field teams. The newly renovated facility now features new boxes for scorekeepers and coaches, broadcast booths, filming platforms, hospitality suites, updated restrooms, a refreshed concession area, a new ticket office, locker rooms, training facilities, a new video scoreboard, a resurfaced track, stadium lights, and the turf Mojo Field.

Rady Family Sports Complex

Katy O. Rady Field

The Katy O. Rady Field is the highest collegiate soccer field in the world at 7,723 feet. The facility was made possible by a gift to the University from Paul and Katy Rady.  The Mountaineers and their opponents enjoy playing on a synthetic sports turf at a venue that includes a scoreboard in the southwest corner, a press box, fan seating on the east side of the field, and facility lights.

Athletic Facility

Paul Wright Gymnasium

Built in 1951 and renovated several times since, Paul Wright Gym has a capacity of 1,800 spectators. At 7,723 feet above sea level, it is the highest collegiate gym in the world and is home to our NCAA wrestling, volleyball, and men’s and women’s basketball teams. The gymnasium additionally features a weight room, the Mountaineer Sports Hall of Fame Room, locker rooms, and six classrooms for the Recreation & Exercise Sport Science Department.

Mountaineer Field House

The Mountaineer Field House (MFH) features the highest NCAA indoor track in the country, a four-story climbing wall, a spacious weight room, fitness rooms, and more. The facility provides students and athletes with excellent strength, conditioning, and recreation training spaces. Whether you’re preparing for competition or staying active, it has everything you need to meet your fitness goals.

Paul Wright Natatorium

The Paul Wright Natatorium is the highest collegiate pool in the country and features a six-lane 25-yard pool, a one-meter springboard, locker rooms, and a hot tub. The pool splits usage between the NCAA women’s swim and dive team and the general community. Check in to the campus recreation page to see the latest pool schedule.

Recreational Facility

Campus Trails

Campus has access to the Signal Peak trail system with the trailhead next to the Rady Family Sports Complex entrance. Here, students can walk, run, and mountain bike over thirty miles of trails at their convenience. A flow track with bike jumps is also by the water towers on campus.
