FreeCycle

FreeCycle at Western Colorado University

FreeCycle is a student-run, zero-cost thrift initiative at Western Colorado University that promotes sustainability by encouraging the reuse of items and reducing waste. Located in the basement of Ute Hall, FreeCycle operates much like a traditional thrift store—but everything is free. Students, faculty, and staff can donate gently used items such as clothing, kitchenware, and school supplies, which are made available to the campus community at no cost.

This program is managed by LEAD Sustainability, a student-led department dedicated to fostering a culture of sustainability through education and collaboration. LEAD Sustainability oversees various initiatives on campus, including FreeCycle, the Rocket Composter, and Zero Waste Kit requests.

FreeCycle operates on variable hours due to its student-run nature. For the most current information on operating hours and events, you can follow LEAD Sustainability on Instagram at @leadsustainability.
