Western Ski Weekend
Join Us February 6-8
Calling all alumni, Mountaineer families, and community members for a weekend packed with skiing, adventure, and après.
Check out the 2026 event lineup below!
Friday, February 6
Rail Jam
Kick off Western Ski Weekend with our 17th annual Rail Jam, an on-campus skiing and snowboarding competition! Watch Taylor Lawn transform into a full ski venue with big jumps and rails (some fabricated by our engineering students) as the Mountaineer community throws down their best tricks.
Saturday, February 7
Mountaineers Day on the Mountain
Hit the slopes at Crested Butte Mountain Resort for a day of skiing and riding with fellow alumni and friends. The Western Mountain Sports Alpine Team will also be racing on Buckley, from 9:30 to 10:00 am and from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
Saturday, February 7
Après-Ski Party
Wrap up the ski day at our Après-Ski Party from 3:30 – 5:30 pm, hosted at Butte 66. Join us after a day on the slopes to relax, connect, and celebrate the Western spirit with drinks and hors d’oeuvres!
Sunday, February 8
Breakfast in the Backcountry
Start your day with our Breakfast in the Backcountry. Check in at the CB Nordic Center at 9 am to pick up your trail pass and free rental gear. From there, you will take a scenic cross-country ski or snowshoe trek to CB Nordic’s charming yurt. Enjoy a delicious breakfast and breathtaking views, with free rentals provided by the Crested Butte Nordic Center.

Western Colorado Nordic Ski Invite
Cheer on the Western Mountain Sports Nordic Team for their annual weekend of racing at home at the Crested Butte Nordic Center.
