WCU Program: Public Relations

Public Relations

Help establish the voice and reputation behind the brand.

Public relations professionals use strategic communications to establish credibility, trust and confidence among communities, employees, public agencies, civic organizations and businesses. While marketing is focused on selling products and services through advertising and market research, public relations deals with an organization’s brand and reputation as a whole.
In the program, you’ll learn how to think, write and speak strategically. You’ll also learn how to use key platforms like social media to create effective campaigns. The Public Relations minor imparts all of the necessary skills for you to begin your career as a public relations professional in the government, nonprofit or corporate sector.

Public Relations Requirements

Minor

A minor complements your major by allowing you to explore a secondary field of interest. It requires fewer courses than a major, making it a flexible way to broaden your knowledge, diversify your skills, or pursue a personal passion alongside your primary area of study.
