Biography
Dr. Van Cleave’s academic research is in the philosophy of mind and cognitive sciences. However, he has spent most of his academic career as a pedagogue rather than researcher, having authored several widely-used open textbooks. Outside the classroom, he is an avid runner, climber, skier and general admirer of the mountains and wilderness. When he’s not teaching, you’ll mostly find him hanging out on alpine ridge lines where few tread.
