Mountaineer Cards

Your Mountaineer Card is your official Western ID. All students, faculty, and staff must have one. It provides access to:

• Athletic events and campus activities
• Mountaineer Field House
• Flex Dollars | For Mad Jack’s and Rare Air Cafe
• Mountaineer Cash
• Leslie J. Savage Library
• Meal plans | Required for Rare Air Cafe entry
• Wilderness Pursuits
• Keyless campus doors

How to Get Your Mountaineer Card

Your first card is free with a valid alternate ID.

• New students: Receive your card from your EPIC Mentor.
• New employees: Get your card from IT Services after Human Resources authorization.
• Replacements: Visit IT Services.

Your card stays active throughout your time at Western and is not reissued annually.

Mountaineer Cash

Mountaineer Cash can be used at:

• Mad Jack’s
• Rare Air Cafe
• Western Bookstore
• Wilderness Pursuits

Parents: Add funds online by visiting the Mountaineer Card portal, selecting “Make a guest deposit,” and entering your student’s Western email.

Mountaineer Cash rolls over year to year. All deposits are final—be cautious with amounts.

Lost Cards

Report a lost card by:

• Signing into the Mountaineer Card portal under “Card Services”
• Visiting IT Services during business hours
• Calling IT Services after hours (leave your name and number)
