Transition to CU Boulder After Year 2

Earn a B.S. in Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering from CU Boulder

In the Western-CU Boulder partnership program, students complete their first two years as Western Colorado University students and then spend the balance of their education as University of Colorado Boulder students—all while remaining on the Western campus in Gunnison. After completing the second year at Western, students transition to CU Boulder student status after an admission process.

Once transitioning to CU Boulder, students in the partnership program are taught by CU Boulder faculty who work full-time in Gunnison. These students accepted by CU Boulder to the partnership program then pay CU Boulder tuition and mandatory fees. Any financial aid processing and awarding then pivot from Western to CU Boulder.

The admission process for the Western-CU Boulder Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering Partnership Programs requires that a student meet the admission requirements for the CU Boulder College of Engineering & Applied Science. A student may apply for admission to the Western-CU Boulder Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering Partnership Program when they have established a successful collegiate record as a Western student as demonstrated through one of the following scenarios.
