Biography

How did you discover Western?

I came to Western from Austin, Texas back in 2017 to begin my undergraduate career and have stayed ever since!

What are some of the highlights of your career?

I began my journey with Campus Recreation at Western Colorado University in 2017 as an Intramural Sports Official and Supervisor. From Spring 2019 through Fall 2020, I served as an EPIC Mentor, supporting first-year students through their transition to college. In 2020, I was accepted into the accelerated Outdoor Industry MBA program. I graduated summa cum laude in 2021 with dual bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Environment & Sustainability, followed by graduating summa cum laude from the OIMBA program in 2022. In August 2021, I was hired as the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation – Recreational Sports. During my first year, I launched the now-annual Mad Jack Madness 3v3 Hockey Tournament. In September 2024, I was honored to join the Alumni Advisory Council, and in March 2025, I received the Distinguished Mountaineer Award. Most recently, I’ve transitioned into a new role within the School of Business as the Outdoor Industry MBA Program Recruitment Coordinator and Administrative Lead.

What most excites you about your field?

What excites me most is the opportunity to help students discover their passions at Western. Through strategic recruitment efforts, I hope to grow the OIMBA program and ensure students have a positive, meaningful experience throughout their time here. I’m especially inspired by the chance to support students on their journey—from their first steps in the program to the incredible accomplishments they achieve through their coursework and capstone projects.

What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?

My favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley is the access to outdoor recreation. I love to mountain bike and trail run with my dog, Benny, in the summers and to charge hard up on Mount Crested Butte in the winter. No matter the time of year, rain, snow, or shine, there is always something to do outside in Sunny Gunni!
