Biography

I grew up in Pennsylvania nestled beneath the Appalachian Mountains. I received my B.S. in Biology from Bloomsburg University (go huskies!) and was on the track & field team, competing in the heptathlon. I completed an undergraduate thesis on differences in algal community composition between natural and artificial wetlands. I received my MS in Ecology from Western and became an avid member of Western’s Student Chapter of the Wildlife Society. My thesis research focused on ecological factors influencing beaver presence in Taylor Park, Colorado. I am a #beaverbeliever and am passionate about restoration ecology and reconnecting people with the land. My best friend is a Dalmatian named Charlie gorl and in my “free time” I enjoy reading, hiking, yoga-ing, and really any outdoor recreation in the beautiful Gunnison Valley!
