Learn About Western’s Myth, History, and Culture International Course
Information Session Nov. 11 at 12:30 p.m. in Taylor Hall 101
Western Colorado University students interested in studying abroad will have the opportunity to explore Ireland’s myth-rich landscapes through Professor Molly Murfee’s Myth, History, and Culture course. An information session for the next Ireland Abroad experience will be held Tuesday, Nov. 11, from 12:30–1:30 p.m. in Taylor Hall 101.
Students from all majors are encouraged to attend. Those unable to be present may contact Professor Murfee directly at mmurfee@western.edu. Applications for the May 11–27, 2026 program are due Nov. 18, and a deposit to secure a spot is due Dec. 3.
What to Expect
The two-week international program invites students to explore ancient archaeological sites, engage with local storytellers, and examine how myth and culture shape a sense of place. Participants unplug from routine, write and sketch in field journals, navigate Gaelic-speaking islands and small villages, and connect with local people while learning the “stories rising from the land.”
