“I am very pleased to keep working in this wonderful universe.”
International bestselling author Kevin J. Anderson, director of Western Colorado University’s Graduate Program in Creative Writing publishing concentration, recently served as co-producer on the smash hit DUNE, PART TWO, which has grossed over $700 million at the international box office so far.
He was a creative consultant on DUNE, PART ONE, and is a co-producer on the forthcoming HBO Max TV series DUNE: PROPHECY, which, along with DUNE, PART TWO, are the most recent and successful efforts to tell the story of Frank Herbert’s best-selling 1965 sci-fi novel on the big screen.
Anderson has more than 140 novels to his credit and 23 million books in print in thirty languages, including many bestselling and award-winning novels in the DUNE universe that he wrote with Frank Herbert’s son Brian Herbert. In addition to his work in the DUNE series, Anderson has written over 50 books for Lucasfilm in the Star Wars universe, along with his writing for the X-Files, Star Trek, Batman, and Superman productions, as well as many other popular franchises.
“So much has changed since we published our first prequel [to DUNE],” Anderson said. “The original DUNE has always been my favorite science fiction novel, and I am very pleased to keep working in this wonderful universe.”
