Welcome to the Mountaineer Field House
COVID-19 Update
At this time, in alignment with Western Colorado University’s policy, the Mountaineer Field House Gym no longer requires appropriate face coverings to be worn while within the facility. We encourage all of our patrons to continue to exercise personal responsibility in this phase of the pandemic. Here are some tips for taking personal responsibility:
- Get vaccinated or boosted
- Monitor your health and stay home if you are sick
- Get tested if you become symptomatic
- Wash your hands, maintain your distance, and be considerate of others
- Wear a mask if you are not feeling well, if you are recovering from COVID, or simply if you choose
- Be respectful of individual choice when members of our campus community continue to wear a mask
- Contact the COVID Response Team if you have questions or concerns
Thank you, Mountaineers!

General Mountaineer Field House Information
The Mountaineer Field House opened in 2014 as a state-of-the-art exercise and wellness center. From morning’s first light to long after dark, the 65,000-square-foot facility is a major hub for student life and many athletic organizations.
The Mountaineer Field House offers everything from three mirrored group fitness rooms to three multi-purpose courts for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and more. It also has an in-ground trampoline and foam pit, batting and golf-practice cage, as well as a throwing cage and jumping pit for field events.
In addition, the field house offers a 5,844-square-foot Fitness Center made available to conference guests and persons with memberships for both day-use options and group events. And at 7,717 feet, the 200-meter indoor track is the highest collegiate indoor track in the United States.
