The TrailheadBiography
What year in school are you and when do you plan to graduate?
I’m currently in my fourth and final year at Western, and I plan to graduate in May 2026. It’s been an exciting journey, and I’m looking forward to wrapping it up strong!
How did you discover Western?
I first heard about Western when a recruiter visited my high school and introduced me to everything the university had to offer. The mix of strong academics and easy access to the outdoors immediately caught my attention.
What are some of the highlights of your time at Western?
One of the biggest highlights has been the outdoor recreation opportunities—whether I’m studying by the river or skiing right after class, it’s all right here. I’ve had so many chances to laugh with friends—moments that I’ll remember for the rest of my life. The professors are another standout; they’re incredibly genuine, helpful, and always willing to support students.
What excites you about your major?
I love that my major allows me to dive into coding and tackle hands-on projects. Learning new programming languages and using math and science to create things—like building a generative AI photo from scratch—keeps me constantly engaged.
What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?
The outdoor spaces are incredible, but what really stands out is the sense of community. It’s a place where people support each other, and it’s helped me grow, discover who I am, and feel truly connected.
