What most excites you about your field?
What I love most about aquatic ecology is seeing ecosystems that most people don’t ever get to see. I love wandering around the desert looking for hidden pockets of water, floating down remote sections of river, wading across a marsh in search of aquatic invertebrates, etc. There are so many creatures under the water that area hidden from the public eye; it’s a treat to be able to explore these places and see the aquatic invertebrates and appreciate the strategies they have for living in their habitats. Additionally, I love bringing students to these places and exposing them to river magic. Please introduce yourself and talk to me about water!
