Biography

How did you discover Western?

I drove through on my way westward, and saw a sign for Western Colorado University. I got a feeling that this would be a good place to learn, teach, and discover. The adventure is just beginning!

What are some of the highlights of your career?

It is a highlight of my teaching career when students tell me about the impact the course had on their understanding. I also relish hearing from people I have coached that their team is more collaborative, more effective and more fulfilling. I have had the opportunity to work with talented people around the world, not only within the U.S. but also by working in Japan and the Cayman Islands. From a technical perspective, a favorite project was developing a machine learning application to support a law firm in being able to manage contract terms.

What most excites you about your field?

I get excited when in a group of people creatively and collaboratively solving problems and making a difference.

What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?

I love mountains and canyons. The opportunity to be in so many beautiful natural areas is amazing.
