Biography
Ashley Lynn Carlson earned her B.A. in English and French from Chapman University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of New Mexico. Her research has focused on nineteenth-century literature and contemporary television. Prior to joining Academic Affairs at Western, she was a Professor of English and Division Chair of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Montana Western, where she also served as Interim Provost in 2021. In 2019-2020 she was a Fulbright Scholar in Madagascar, where she taught at the Université d’Antananarivo. Outside of work, Carlson loves traveling to new places with her family.
