Gaye served Western as Chair of the Education Department and Associate Professor of Education, in addition to AVP for Academic Affairs and Dean of Graduate Studies 2012-2018. She is now excited to be serving emerging and developing educators directly, through various areas of expertise: Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education, 21st Century Learning, and Educational Leadership.

Dr. Jenkins earned her Doctorate in Education from California Coast University. Before coming to Western, she taught Physical Education and French in UK, English and World languages at the high school level in Colorado, and then founded a private educational consulting firm whose mission was “building human connections using language as the bridge.” She remains passionate about culturally and linguistically diverse education, exploring our natural environment, organic gardening and cooking, and spending time with her family in the U.S. and overseas.
