I’m majoring in Communications with an emphasis in Theater; I’m minoring in English and Diversity.
How did you discover Western?
In high school I wanted to be a writer, so I was looking for liberal arts colleges and Western had a degree for writing. It was within the state so tuition would be less expensive and it would be closer to home.
What are some of the highlights of your time at Western?
I got to go be a part of the Wilderness Based Orientation, which is an extra orientation before the regular orientation, and I got to go camping and rock climbing with a few others for a few days before orientation started and it was SO much fun! Since then, I’ve been able to make tons of friends through the wide variety of clubs on campus.
What most excites you about your major?
I found my love for performing while at Western when I made it into the cast of Midsummer Night’s Dream and now I don’t think I would be able to continue without pursuing this in my life. I’m so excited to develop my skills as an actor, participate in the Gunnison Summer Theater Festival and take a trapeze class next semester.
What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?
I love how small the campus is and how nice everyone is in the valley.
